Flat Top Mountain
	Flat Top Mountain near Roanoke, Virginia.  The view at the top is stunning with probably close to 270 degrees of view towards the northwest.  These photos were taken in December and there was ice covering everything at the top.  There are also a lot of rocky outcroppings and overhangs at the top. 	Luray
	Photos from Luray, Virginia fall 2011.  Hiked up Massanutten mountain off trail to a rock overlook with a nice view of Shenandoah National Park.  The Fall foliage was extremely colorful, some of the trees I saw were Black Gum, Maple, Poplar, and Oak. View category

	Torrey's Ridge
	Torrey's Ridge from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.  Black Bear and Mountain Lion are frequently seen in this area though stable populations of Mountain Lion are thought to no longer exist in the state of Virginia.  Torrey's Ridge is accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway or from nearby Sherando Lake. 	Roaring Plains Wilderness
	Roaring Plains Wilderness is one of the most remote wilderness areas in the state of West Virginia.  The wilderness consists of high elevation forests of red spruce, rhododendron, sugar maple and open meadow areas with peat bogs.  There are also many other varieties of plant species in the area.  View category

	Lion Lakes
	Lion Lakes is the perfect example of a Colorado wilderness at its best.  The area around the lakes is very undisturbed and has a very harsh weather system.  A round trip hike starting at the Wild Basin parking area is roughly fourteen miles.  View category

	Sky Pond offers a glimpse of some of the most amazing scenery northern Colorado has to offer.  The trail takes visitors up past The Loch, Lake of Glass and finally to Sky Pond, these three lakes are definitely some of the most scenic lakes in the state. View category

	Brainard Lake is part of Indian Peaks located along the front range in Colorado.  It's possible to reach the continental divide in a half day and see natural alpine lakes along the way.  Brainard lake is the first of the lakes then Long Lake and finally Lake Isabelle. View category

	Arches National Park in Utah contains more than 2000 natural arches some are large enough to fly a plane through. This portfolio is from a weekend trip to Moab during spring of 2005. The town of Moab is a great place to go for seeing the southwest's most amazing scenery. View category
